Best Open Data Sources: DBpedia

The resource that lets you suck the marrow from Wikipedia’s bones.

DBpedia allows you to word-search for people (1.445m), places (0.735m), species (0.251m) and much more. You need to put the questions in SPARQL format, but seeing as this resource is a go-to for Apple, Google and IBM, among others, it just might be worth taking that extra step.
