Google has announced that it just reached ‘quantum supremacy’. This does NOT mean that they have launched a putsch and taken over the interwebs, but rather that their 53-bit quantum computer, Sycamore, hit a computing milestone. It took just 200 seconds to perform (a fairly meaningless) calculation that would take a conventional supercomputer 10,000 years to do. Minds sufficiently blown?
