TOP AI V COVID-19 NEWS: Google AI fills in awkward silences

Video calls are frequently blighted by patchy audio, technically known as ‘jitter’, which is caused by the nature of the internet – packets of data being sent down wires and reassembled can quite naturally have gaps and delays, and sometimes little chunks go missing altogether. Google has a new fix, with an AI bot that learns to mimic your voice, then fills in those gaps. Soon it’ll being correcting your grammar! More here.
